Default Building A Warr/Necro

I am just starting a warror (primary) Necromancer (secondary) and i seem to be getting smacked around alot. Now I dont know if this is just a bad combo or if I am just running it bad but i am sick of dieing and need advice.

right now i just came into the next world and have only got frenzy and vampiric gaze as new skills so i am hopeing it is just a lack of new toys that is killing me. But anyway, right now everything is divided evenly between Tactics, Strength, Swords, and blood magic

I am looking for any strats someone can give me, or any must have skills that i need to get (where to get them would also be nice but i can research it if you cant remember).

Not divide yourself into 4 skill classes. I think you could do away with tactics and put those points into blood magic.

I have had a lot of luck with a war/nec that concentrates on life siphoning/ life stealing skills. I also agree drop tactics and if you want a shield there are several that use strentgh as the base attrib.

I've been playing a W/N and I've been enjoying soloing with it. I'm using curses and parasitic bond for my healing. It's cheaper so you can cast it more often and if you time it right and kill the target right after you cast it you can skip the 20 second delay on the healing. the -1 health on the target isn't anything special, but as a warrior you'll probably be using the warrior skills for most of your killing. I forget where you find it though.

I'd say from what you are doing now, put all your attributes into swords and blood. Then hit one target with life siphon, switch to another and put it on that one too. Then use your sword until you have enough adrenaline to use sever artery on one, then put sever artery on the other. By then you should have gash charged and you can probably finish one of them off. If there are more targets and your energy has charged enough cast life siphon again and hit them with sever artery. just try to keep as much energy degregation on them as you can and wear them down.

at least that's what i did for a while. i started to notice that i wasn't really getting alot of bang for my buck with life siphon though and i didn't see alot of future in blood for my warrior, so i switched to curses.

if i remember right i'm currently using

Insidious Parasite
Seeking Blade
Gash
Sever Artery
Parasitic Bond
Suffering
Mark of Pain
Frenzy

pretty much just for soloing, or with henchmen until they die off.

use swords. Grab as many adrienline skills as you can so you save your engery for your necro skills. w/n only have 20 energy. grab sever artery and gash for sure. also get vampire touch, and life sifon. And dont bring a shield, bring something to increase your engery.

If you really wont to due some damage make a N/W with the same skills and youll (almost) never die.

I'm with chp on this one, in the early game, when hp is low, life siphon/vamp gaze are the good skills to stay alive and keep fighting...

They're too energy expensive though.

It's much more efficient to lessen damage dealt to you rather than healing it since healing is a short term high energy cost technique whereas damage prevention/disruption is long term low energy cost.

Curses Warriors will definitely do far better in the long run than a Blood Magic Life Draining warrior.

Well, assuming you're playing PVE, I've got a swords/curses warrior, and I love it!

The skills I use regularly are

Sever Artery
Gash
Flurry
Watch Yourself
Mark of Pain
Enfeebling Blood
Distracting Blow

I often add res signet, and am experimenting with Bonnetti's defence instead of Gash, and am undecided, as although it sounds nice in principle, monsters usually go for the party healer.

I sometimes use shadow of fear as an 8th skill (when solo), but find that it gets little use (even though it's a great skill), as enfeebling blood covers a wider area. Enfeebling blood also seems to get more aggro from monsters in PVE than my hexes. I'm thinking that sprint may be a better 8th skill for solo + hench PVE.

The mark of pain + flurry combo is great in PVE - it builds adrenaline, as well as the fact that, as flurry strikes inflict less damage, that's more "strikes" counted for mark of pain before the targetted enemy dies. That way, my enemy's friends die around them because of mark of pain, and I then finish off my target with a sever and whatever else (e.g. gash).

This build does very well against hordes of melee opponents e.g. minotaurs etc.

One weakness of this build is that there's no self heal. Curses isn't strong on that, as the heals that the curse line gets aren't very energy-efficient, especially as I only have twenty-something energy and 2 pips of regen as a warrior.

Watch Yourself and Enfeebling Blood are great for defending the party healer. The life sacrifice for enfeebling blood hurts, but as I tend to adventure with a healer and the skill only costs 10 energy (!), this isn't usually a problem, as this tends to protect the healer from more harm in the long run.

There's no elite skill here for the simple reason that I haven't got one yet
